The Role Of Posyandu Toddler Cadres In Preventing Covid-19 Exposure In The Working Area Of the Bintang Health Center, Central Aceh Regency
Introduction
The world is currently facing a significant challenge due to the Pandemi Covid-19, which has affected almost every corner of the earth. This virus has spread rapidly and can infect various age groups, including toddlers who are vulnerable groups. In the midst of this situation, Posyandu (Integrated Service Post) emerged as a strategic step to maintain the survival and health of the public. Posyandu cadres, especially cadres who handle toddlers, have a very important role in carrying out this activity. Therefore, the existence and function of cadres are very necessary in an effort to reduce the spread of COVID-19.
Background of the Study
The Pandemi Covid-19 has brought about a significant impact on the health and well-being of individuals, particularly toddlers who are vulnerable to the virus. In response to this situation, the government and health authorities have implemented various measures to prevent the spread of the virus, including the establishment of Posyandu. Posyandu is a community-based health program that aims to provide integrated health services to the community, including toddlers. The program is implemented by Posyandu cadres, who are trained to provide health education and services to the community.
Methodology
This study aims to identify the role of Posyandu Toddler cadres in preventing the exposure of Covid-19 in the working area of the Bintang Health Center, Central Aceh Regency. The method used in this study is quantitative with a descriptive approach. The research population includes 115 cadres, with sampling techniques using the Slovin formula, which produced a sample of 53 cadres. However, given the increasingly worried situation of the Pandemi Covid-19, the number of samples was reduced to 30 cadres.
Results
The results showed that 100% of 30 cadres had carried out their role in preventing the exposure of Covid-19 before the Posyandu open day. In addition, during the implementation of Posyandu activities, all cadres (100%) also carried out their roles well. Not only that, the role of cadres continues after the Posyandu open day, which shows their consistency in applying preventive measures. From this result, it can be concluded that the role of Posyandu toddlers cadres in preventing COVID-19 exposure in the working area of the Bintang Health Center, Central Aceh Regency, is included in the category carried out very well.
Discussion
Further analysis of the role of cadres in the context of COVID-19 prevention shows that Posyandu cadres not only function as health counselors, but also as the frontline in educating the public about the prevention of virus transmission. Cadres are trained to inform parents about the importance of health protocols, such as wearing masks, keeping distances, and washing hands. In addition, they also play a role in setting the Posyandu visit schedule to continue to meet the applicable health requirements.
Conclusion
The existence of Posyandu cadres in the Bintang Puskesmas area is very important in an effort to prevent the spread of COVID-19. They are not only health workers, but also become a liaison between the community and the health information needed. Through their active role, it is hoped that the distribution rate of Covid-19 can be reduced, as well as increasing public awareness about the importance of health and disease prevention.
