The Importance of Work Motivation and Employee Competencies
Work motivation and employee competencies are two critical factors that can significantly impact employee productivity. Work motivation refers to the internal drive that motivates employees to perform their tasks and achieve their goals. It is a psychological state that drives employees to exert effort and persist in the face of obstacles. On the other hand, employee competencies refer to the skills, knowledge, and abilities that employees possess to perform their jobs effectively. In today's fast-paced and competitive business environment, employees need to possess a range of competencies, including technical, business, and soft skills, to stay relevant and competitive.

Results
The results of this study show that work motivation and work competencies can be used to predict employee productivity. Furthermore, the T test (T -Test T) results show that the work competency variable (X2) has a significant effect on employee productivity, with a significance level of 0,000 smaller than 0.05. This suggests that by increasing work competencies, employee productivity can increase.
Further Analysis
In further analysis, it was found that the work motivation variables (X1) need to be further improved in order to make a greater contribution to productivity. The results of the determinant coefficient (R²) of 0.667 show that work motivation and work competencies have a strong relationship with employee performance. In this case, Adjusted R Square of 0.447 shows that 44.7% of increased employee productivity can be explained by motivational factors and work competencies. Conversely, the remaining 55.3% indicate that there are other variables outside of this study which also affect employee productivity.
The Interaction between Work Motivation and Employee Competencies
It is interesting to note that the two variables, namely work motivation and work competencies, interact with each other in determining productivity. High work motivation can increase employee interest to develop their competencies, while good competence provides confidence to employees who in turn can also foster motivation. Therefore, the company, in this case Perum Pegadaian, should pay attention to these two aspects simultaneously.
