Despite the importance of UP, observations at GIH Medan have revealed that some nurses do not wear gloves during invasive actions, highlighting the need to understand the factors influencing this behavior.

This study aimed to analyze the effect of leadership patterns on nurse compliance in applying UP at GIH Medan. A total of 260 nurses were involved in the study, with 15 nurses selected as samples. Data were collected through multiple logistic regression tests, which revealed significant associations between leadership patterns and nurse compliance.

The results of the study showed that communication (p = 0.007) and competencies (p = 0.32) had a significant influence on nurse compliance in applying UP at GIH Medan.
