The Influence Of Entrepreneurial Character And Competitive Advantage On The Success Of Entrepreneurship In Members Of BPD HIPMI Aceh
The Influence of Entrepreneurial Character and Competitive Advantage on the Success of Entrepreneurship in Members of BPD HIPMI Aceh
Introduction
Entrepreneurship has become a crucial aspect of economic growth and development, particularly in regions with high potential for innovation and entrepreneurship. The Indonesian Young Entrepreneurs Association (HIPMI) is one such organization that aims to promote entrepreneurship among young individuals in Aceh. However, the success of entrepreneurship depends on various factors, including entrepreneurial character and competitive advantage. This study aims to investigate the influence of these two factors on the success of entrepreneurship among members of the Regional Management Agency (BPD) of HIPMI Aceh.
Background
Entrepreneurial character refers to the set of personality traits, values, and attitudes that influence an individual's behavior and decision-making in an entrepreneurial context. It encompasses aspects such as risk-taking, creativity, and resilience, which are essential for entrepreneurs to navigate the challenges of starting and growing a business. On the other hand, competitive advantage refers to the unique strengths and capabilities that enable an entrepreneur to outperform their competitors and achieve success in the market.
In the context of BPD HIPMI Aceh, entrepreneurial character and competitive advantage are critical factors that can determine the success of young entrepreneurs. The organization provides a platform for members to access resources, networks, and training opportunities that can help them develop their entrepreneurial skills and knowledge. However, the effectiveness of these resources depends on the individual's entrepreneurial character and competitive advantage.
Methodology
This study employed a quantitative approach, using a survey research design to collect data from a sample of entrepreneurs who are members of BPD HIPMI Aceh. The population used as objects were entrepreneurs who are members of the Aceh Province BPD HIPMI. For sampling, researchers used the purposive sampling method, which is sampling based on certain criteria. Data collection methods were carried out through questionnaires, interviews, and literature studies, which allowed researchers to get more comprehensive information.
Data analysis was carried out using descriptive statistical methods and quantitative methods, namely multiple linear regression analysis with a significance level of 0.05. The results of the F test showed that the character of entrepreneurship and competitive advantage simultaneously have a significant influence on the success of the entrepreneurship of HIPMI Aceh members. This shows that these two factors are very instrumental in determining the success of young entrepreneurs.
Results
The testing of the coefficient of determination (R²) revealed the adjusted R square value of 0.662. This means that the character of entrepreneurship and competitive advantage contributes 66% to the success of entrepreneurship, while the remaining 34% are influenced by other factors that are not examined in this study. These factors can include internal and external aspects such as the business environment, access to capital, education, and previous experience in entrepreneurship.
Discussion
The results of this study suggest that the development of positive entrepreneurial character and strong competitive advantage is very important for members of HIPMI Aceh to achieve success in entrepreneurship. This is consistent with previous studies that have highlighted the importance of entrepreneurial character and competitive advantage in determining the success of entrepreneurs.
The findings of this study also have implications for organizations such as HIPMI, which can provide training and development programs that can improve the character of entrepreneurship and competitive advantage strategies. Through these steps, it is expected that members of HIPMI Aceh can be better prepared to face challenges and increase opportunities for success in the world of entrepreneurship.
Conclusion
In conclusion, this study has provided evidence of the significant influence of entrepreneurial character and competitive advantage on the success of entrepreneurship among members of BPD HIPMI Aceh. The findings of this study have implications for organizations such as HIPMI, which can provide training and development programs that can improve the character of entrepreneurship and competitive advantage strategies.
