The National Community Empowerment Program-Poverty Reduction Program in Urban (PNPM-P2KP) is a government initiative aimed at empowering the community and reducing poverty. This program is expected to make a positive contribution to the socioeconomic welfare of the community.

Research Purpose and Methodology

This study aims to evaluate the effect of PNPM-P2KP on the socioeconomic community in Sidikalang Village. The research method used is the Explanatory research method, which aims to understand the relationship between the PNPM-P2KP program (variable X) and the socioeconomic condition of the community (variable Y). A total of 50 respondents were chosen as samples, and data were collected through questionnaires, interviews, and observations.

Analysis and Results

The analysis was carried out using the Pearson Product Moment Correlation method to measure the relationship between the two variables. The results show a very low relationship between PNPM-P2KP and the socioeconomic condition of the community, with a value of R = 0.037. The coefficient of determination obtained is 0.1369%, which indicates that only 0.1369% of the socio-economic changes of the community can be explained by this program. This means that 99.87% of the socio-economic changes are influenced by other factors outside of this study.

The equation obtained from the calculations is Y = 29.24 + 0.100 X, which means that every time the PNPM-P2KP program is implemented once, the socioeconomic of the community will increase by around 29.34. Although this number shows the influence, the value is still relatively low, which illustrates the need for a more in-depth evaluation of the effectiveness of the program.

Analysis and Recommendations

The results of this study indicate that although PNPM-P2KP was present as a government initiative to empower the community and reduce poverty, the impact on socioeconomic in Sidikalang Village is still very limited. Some factors may contribute to this result, such as lack of active participation from the community, limited access to information, and the existence of structural problems in the implementation of the program.

  2. Education and Training: Increasing community knowledge and skills through education and training so that they can take advantage of existing opportunities more effectively.

  3. Monitoring and Evaluation: A better monitoring and evaluation system is needed to determine the impact of the program regularly and adjust the intervention to be more targeted.

  4. Structural Reforms: Structural reforms are needed to address the existing problems in the implementation of the program, such as limited access to information and lack of active participation from the community.

Conclusion and Future Directions

By implementing these recommendations, it is hoped that PNPM-P2KP can be more effective in improving the socio-economic welfare of the community in Sidikalang Village and making a real contribution in poverty alleviation efforts. Further research is needed to evaluate the effectiveness of these recommendations and to identify other factors that may contribute to the limited impact of the program.

Limitations of the Study

This study has several limitations, including the small sample size and the limited scope of the analysis. Further research is needed to evaluate the effectiveness of PNPM-P2KP in other areas and to identify other factors that may contribute to the limited impact of the program.

Recommendations for Future Research

Future research should focus on evaluating the effectiveness of PNPM-P2KP in other areas and identifying other factors that may contribute to the limited impact of the program. Additionally, research should focus on developing more effective strategies for community empowerment and poverty reduction.

Conclusion

In conclusion, this study has shown that PNPM-P2KP has a limited impact on the socioeconomic community in Sidikalang Village. However, with the implementation of the recommendations outlined in this study, it is hoped that PNPM-P2KP can be more effective in improving the socio-economic welfare of the community and making a real contribution in poverty alleviation efforts.
