The EEDPW dose of 200 mg/kg body weight showed a significant difference compared to negative control (p <0.05), but did not show a significant difference compared to positive control and normal control (P> 0.05). Histopathological examination of liver cells with a dose of 200 mg/kg body weight indicated liver tissue that was still in normal condition. Increased EEDPW dose from 50 mg/kg BW to 100 mg/kg BW, and 200 mg/kg BW showed significant increase in hepatoprotective activity.

The results of this study suggest that the ethanol extract of fragrant pandanus leaves (EEDPW) has hepatoprotective activity that is able to protect the liver from damage caused by paracetamol. The EEDPW dose of 200 mg/kg body weight showed a significant difference compared to negative control, indicating that EEDPW has a hepatoprotective effect.
