Introduction
Located in the Badiri District, Central Tapanuli Regency, North Sumatra Province, Unggh Island is renowned for its significant sea cucumber potential. Sea cucumbers, belonging to the echinodermata phylum, possess distinct characteristics, including soft thorny skin, cylindrical shapes, and slow movements. These marine creatures play a vital role in aquatic ecosystems, serving as deposit feeders, helping to decompose organic matter, and providing a source of food for marine predators.
In shallow waters, including seagrass ecosystems, sea cucumbers can be found thriving. This study aims to determine the abundance of sea cucumbers in the seagrass ecosystems of Unggh Island and analyze the conditions of the parameters in the ecosystem. The research method employed is a transect quadrant method, with a size of 5x5 meters, placed on a transect path along 100 meters, with a distance of 50 meters between the transect paths.

The study was conducted at three observation points, each with unique coordinates:

- Station 2: 01º34'32.71 "LU and 098º45 '37.58" BT
- Station 3: 01º34'24.22 "LU and 098º45 '38.06" BT
The three types of sea cucumbers found in the seagrass ecosystems of Unggh Island are Actinopyga Aechinites, a. Miliaris, and Holothuria scabra. The observations reveal the density of sea cucumbers in each station: Station 1 has a density of 0.16 ind/m², station 2 with a density of 0.12 ind/m², and station 3 reaches a density of 0.4 ind/m². Overall, the density of sea cucumbers at the study site is 0.32 ind/m².
