Introduction
Propagation of plants using cuttings is a popular method, but its success is heavily influenced by the availability of carbohydrates and plant growth hormones in cuttings. This study investigates the effect of stem diameter and the administration of growth regulators on the growth of Bougainvillea Spectabilis Willd. cuttings.

Methodology
This study was conducted in a greenhouse for seven months, from January to August 2013. The research design used a randomized factorial group design with two main factors: stem diameter (6 mm, 12 mm, and 18 mm) and the type of growth regulators (aquadest, 400 ppm IBA + 400 ppm BAP, 600 ppm IBA + 600 ppm BAP, and 800 ppm IBA + 800 ppm BAP). Each combination of treatment was repeated three times. The parameters measured included the age of the buds, the height of the buds, the diameter of the shoots, the number of leaves, the fresh weight of the roots, the dry weight of the roots, the fresh weight of the shoots, and the dry weight of the shoots.
Results
The results showed that both stem diameter and the administration of growth regulators had a significant effect on all parameters, except for the age of the shoots. The interaction between the two factors did not show a significant effect on all parameters.
