The country occupies the 15th position as a country with the highest number of cases. North Sumatra Province, too, did not escape the impact, ranking 9th with 152,936 cases. Pematang Siantar City, in particular, recorded 9,528 positive cases and 199 deaths due to Covid-19. In Siantar Marihat District, there are four positive COVID-19 cases every day. Among the seven villages, Sukaraja Village ranked second in terms of the number of COVID-19 cases, with a high proportion of adolescents. This situation is mostly caused by non-compliance in applying health protocols.

Understanding the Relationship between Knowledge and Family Support

In this context, this study aims to understand how the relationship between knowledge and family support for the application of the Covid-19 protocol in adolescents in Sukaraja Village, Pematang Siantar, in 2022. This study is quantitative with a cross-sectional design, which was carried out in the adolescent population in Sukaraja with a total of 472 people. Using the Taro Yamane formula, 83 respondents selected through the Simple Random Sampling method. Data was collected through a questionnaire, both offline and online. Data analysis was carried out using univariate and bivariate analysis with the chi-square test, and the results were presented in the form of frequency distribution tables.

The results showed that there was a significant relationship between family knowledge and emotional support with the application of the Covid-19 protocol among adolescents.
