In carrying out its functions as an institution that also has a social role, hospitals are expected to provide the best service, especially in the field of nursing. Nursing services are one of the most important aspects in maintaining the quality of services in the hospital. Nurse knowledge about the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) of nursing actions is a fundamental thing that must be possessed to provide satisfying care for patients. Therefore, it is important to study the extent of nurses' knowledge about SOPs and how the patient's perception of the services they receive.

Background

The General Hospital Dr. Zainoel Abidin (BPK-RSUZA) Banda Aceh is a major healthcare provider in the region, serving a large number of patients every year. The hospital has a team of skilled nurses who provide care to patients in the inpatient room. However, despite the best efforts of the nursing staff, there are still many aspects that need to be improved in nurse knowledge about standard procedures in carrying out care. This study aims to evaluate the level of nurse knowledge regarding SOPs for nursing care in the inpatient room of disease in the General Hospital Dr. Zainoel Abidin (BPK-RSUZA) Banda Aceh.

Primary data is obtained through filling out questionnaires by respondents, while secondary data are collected from existing service indicators. The questionnaire used in this study consists of two parts: the first part is related to the knowledge of nurses about SOPs for nursing care actions, and the second part is related to the patient's perception of the quality of nursing services.

Results

The results of this study showed that nurses' knowledge of SOPs for nursing care actions only reached 56.96%, which were categorized as lacking. This shows that there are still many aspects that need to be improved in nurse knowledge about standard procedures in carrying out care. In addition, patient perception of the quality of nursing services also shows a low number, which is only 36%. This indicates that the implementation of nursing actions in the hospital has not been fully in accordance with the expected standards.

Discussion

The results of this study indicate that there is a need for improvement in nurse knowledge about SOPs for nursing care actions. This is consistent with the findings of previous studies that have shown that nurse knowledge about SOPs is a critical factor in determining the quality of nursing services. The low level of nurse knowledge about SOPs for nursing care actions may be due to various factors, including lack of training and education, inadequate supervision, and insufficient resources.
