Introduction

This study aimed to estimate the carbon reserves in rubber plants in the people's plantations in Tarean Village, Sillery District, Serdang Bedagai Regency. The study used a destructive method to calculate carbon stock, where plant samples were selected using the purposive sampling method. The best equation for estimating biomass and carbon was chosen based on the allometric equation with the highest R-SQ value.
Results
The results of this study showed that the allometric model for biomass and carbon was W = 0.540 H1.882 and C = 0.053 H 2,526. The biomass and carbon potential in Tarean Village rubber plantation, Silangak District, Serdang Bedagai was 4.92 tons/ha and 2.61 tons/ha, respectively.
Discussion
The results of this study indicate that people's rubber plantations in Tarean Village have the potential to store significant carbon reserves. This is important because rubber plantations can play a role in mitigation of climate change through the absorption of CO2 from the atmosphere.
