Effect Of Default Age And Three Types Of Organic Fertilizer On Growth And Production Of Green Sawi (Brassica Juncea L.)
The Effect of Developing Age and Three Types of Organic Fertilizer on Growth and Production of Green Sawi (Brassica Juncea L.)
Green sawi, also known as Brassica juncea L., is a popular leaf vegetable rich in vitamins A, C, E, and K, which are essential for maintaining good health. The cultivation of green sawi requires careful consideration of various factors, including the age of moving planting and the use of organic fertilizers. In this study, we aim to investigate the effect of planting age and three types of organic fertilizer on the growth and production of green sawi.
Green sawi is a widely consumed leafy green vegetable that is rich in nutrients and antioxidants. It is an excellent source of vitamins A, C, E, and K, which play a crucial role in maintaining good health. The cultivation of green sawi requires careful consideration of various factors, including the age of moving planting and the use of organic fertilizers. The age of moving planting is a critical factor that affects the growth and production of green sawi. In general, the age of moving planting is determined by the time it takes for the seedlings to reach a certain stage of growth.
This study was conducted in Tanjung Sari Village, Medan Selayang District, Medan, North Sumatra, at an altitude of about 25 meters above sea level. The study was conducted from February to April 2023. A factorial random block (RBD) experimental design was used, consisting of 3 replications with 2 factors. The first factor was the age of moving planting, which consisted of 10, 15, and 20 days after planting (das). The second factor was the type of organic fertilizer added, namely sub soil, sub soil + vermicompos fertilizer, sub soil + chicken fertilizer, and sub soil + cow dung fertilizer.
The results of this study showed that the age of cropping had a significant effect on several growth parameters, including the length of the plant in 1-4 weeks after moving planting (wat), number of leaves, pseudo stem diameter, biomass weight per sample, fresh weight of the canopy, fresh weight of the root, fresh weight selling per sample, and harvest index. At the age of 20 watershed planting, the highest fresh selling weight per sample was obtained. In addition, the addition of organic fertilizer also had a significant impact on the length of the plant, number of leaves, pseudo stem diameter, biomass weight, fresh weight of canopy, fresh root weight, fresh weight selling, and harvest index. Chicken fertilizer and Vermicompos fertilizer showed the best results in increasing the fresh weight of selling per sample.
The results of this study showed that the age of moving planting and the type of organic fertilizer added had a significant effect on the growth and production of green sawi. The age of moving planting was found to have a significant effect on several growth parameters, including the length of the plant, number of leaves, pseudo stem diameter, biomass weight per sample, fresh weight of the canopy, fresh weight of the root, fresh weight selling per sample, and harvest index. The addition of organic fertilizer also had a significant impact on the length of the plant, number of leaves, pseudo stem diameter, biomass weight, fresh weight of canopy, fresh root weight, fresh weight selling, and harvest index.
In conclusion, this study found that the age of moving planting and the type of organic fertilizer added had a significant effect on the growth and production of green sawi. The age of moving planting was found to have a significant effect on several growth parameters, including the length of the plant, number of leaves, pseudo stem diameter, biomass weight per sample, fresh weight of the canopy, fresh weight of the root, fresh weight selling per sample, and harvest index. Based on the results of this study, the following recommendations are made:
- The age of moving planting should be carefully considered to optimize the growth and production of green sawi.
- The use of organic fertilizers, such as chicken fertilizer and vermicompos fertilizer, can significantly improve the growth and production of green sawi.
- Farmers should consider using a combination of organic fertilizers to optimize the growth and production of green sawi.
- Further research is needed to investigate the effects of other factors, such as soil type and climate, on the growth and production of green sawi.
This study had several limitations, including:
- The study was conducted in a single location, which may not be representative of other locations.
- The study only investigated the effects of age of moving planting and type of organic fertilizer on the growth and production of green sawi.
- Further research is needed to investigate the effects of other factors, such as soil type and climate, on the growth and production of green sawi.
Based on the results of this study, the following future research directions are suggested:
- Investigate the effects of other factors, such as soil type and climate, on the growth and production of green sawi.
- Investigate the effects of different types of organic fertilizers on the growth and production of green sawi.
- Investigate the effects of different ages of moving planting on the growth and production of green sawi.
In conclusion, this study found that the age of moving planting and the type of organic fertilizer added had a significant effect on the growth and production of green sawi.
