The results of the analysis using the One Way Anova test showed a significant difference in brightness between the four treatment groups (p <0,000). Post HOC/LSD test reveals significant differences in several combinations, especially between active charcoal gels with activation time of 1 hour, 2 hours and 3 hours, as well as with carbamid peroxide. The conclusion of this study shows that the active coconut shell gel activated for 3 hours gives the best gear brightness results compared to activation for 1 hour and 2 hours. However, the gel is still not as bright as the results obtained from the use of 16%peroxide carbamid.

Discussion

The use of active charcoal as a natural teeth whitening material offers more environmentally friendly alternatives and has the potential to reduce the risk of side effects resulting from stronger chemicals such as carbamid peroxide.
