Methodology

This thesis consists of six chapters with a total of 74 pages. The main focus of research is to understand the public perception of the existence of Playstation rental, with the aim of exploring the knowledge and attitudes of the people in Helvetia Tengah Village, Medan City. The method used in this study is descriptive, which allows researchers to describe the situation and explain how people react to the rental.

The population in this study covers all people who live around the Central Helvetia Village, which amounts to around 27,700 people. The samples taken were 127 respondents, consisting of parents whose children were around the Playstation rental. Sampling was carried out with proportional random sampling techniques, which guarantee data representatives. Data was collected using a questionnaire and interview to get more in-depth and comprehensive information.

Results

The results showed that public perception of the existence of playstation rental tends to be negative. Many parents express their disapproval and rejection of the presence of this place of game. Some reasons that arise include concerns about the negative impacts on children's development, such as reducing time for learning and potential dependence on the game. This is a signal for related parties to be more proactive in overcoming this problem.

The results also showed that the majority of respondents were male (62.99%), with most of the profession as an entrepreneur (55.12%) and dominated by the Batak Mandailing tribe (31.50%). This indicates that the respondents were mostly from the local community and had a strong sense of responsibility towards their children's development.
