This type of research is quantitative descriptive with a descriptive-explanatory nature. Hypothesis testing is carried out by multiple linear regression methods at a 95% confidence level (α = 0.05).

This study found that:
- Partially, individual characteristics, namely expertise, education, and work experience, have a significant influence on employee career development with a coefficient of determination (R2) of 0.885. Educational factor has the greatest influence with a regression coefficient value of 12.703 and significance of 0,000. Simultaneously, these three factors jointly affect employee career development.
- Partially, organizational characteristics, namely organizational resources, organizational climate, and organizational structure, also have a significant influence on employee career development with a significance level of 0,000 and the coefficient of determination (R2) of 0.927. Organizational climate factors have the greatest influence with a regression coefficient value of 0.8717 and a significance of 0,000. Simultaneously, these three factors jointly affect employee career development.
Conclusion
Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that:
- There is a significant influence between expertise, education, and work experience on employee career development. Educational factor is the dominant factor that determines the career development of employees at PT Fedex Medan. This shows that education plays an important role in advancing the careers of employees.
