Introduction

Construction work in the field often does not go according to plan. In the process, many deviations can be found, especially at the finishing stage, which requires high accuracy and neatness. This incompatibility leads to the need to do rework or rework, which is caused by the not fulfilling the quality standards set by the company and the rejection of consumers. Factors that can cause rework include design, managerial, and resource factors. Understanding these factors is crucial for construction companies to take strategic steps to improve the quality of work and customer satisfaction, as well as efficiency in the project that is carried out.

Research Background

This study aims to understand and analyze how the design, managerial, and resource factors affect the rework in construction projects. This type of research is descriptive statistical research with associative descriptive nature. Data was collected through the distribution of questionnaires and documentation studies, involving all employees of three construction companies, namely PT. Leprim Globalindo Utama, CV. Bintang Multi Graha, and PT. Citra Anugrah Teknika, totaling 67 people. The research was conducted in the city of Medan, which is one of the major construction hubs in Indonesia. The study's objective is to identify the factors that contribute to rework in construction projects and to provide recommendations for construction companies to minimize rework.

Analysis Method

In data analysis, multiple linear regression methods are used and ANOVA different tests with the help of SPSS 22.0 software. The results of the analysis showed that simultaneously, the design, managerial, and resource factors had a positive and significant influence on rework with the coefficient of determination (R²) of 67.5%. This indicates that the three factors have a significant impact on rework, and that the design factor has a positive but insignificant influence on rework.
