Analysis of the Effect of Layout of Production Facilities and Work Supervision on the Productivity of Mawar Bakery Production Employees with Motivation as Moderating Variables
Introduction
In today's competitive business landscape, companies are constantly seeking ways to optimize their operations and improve employee productivity. One of the key factors that influence productivity is the layout of production facilities and work supervision. A well-designed layout and effective supervision can significantly impact employee performance and overall business success. This study aims to analyze the impact of the layout of production facilities and work supervision on employee productivity in Mawar Bakery, with motivation as a moderating variable that can affect the relationship.
Background
Every company strives to have quality human resources, which are considered valuable assets that must be sought and maintained. In an effort to achieve optimal work results, companies need to optimize the factors that support employee productivity. The layout of production facilities and work supervision are two important factors that influence productivity. A well-designed layout can facilitate an efficient work process, while effective supervision can encourage employees to work more efficiently and productively.
Methodology
This research was conducted using a descriptive quantitative and explanatory approach. The research population consisted of 132 production employees in three locations of Mawar Bakery, namely Pinang Baris, Setia Budi, and Gatot Subroto. Of the population, 100 people were chosen as samples using simple random sampling techniques. Research data were collected through the study of documentation and distribution of questionnaires. In data analysis, researchers used MRRA regression analysis (Moderating Regression Analysis) to examine the relationship between the layout of production facilities, work supervision, and employee productivity.
Results
The test results show that both the layout of production facilities and work supervision have a positive and significant influence on employee productivity in Mawar Bakery. Among these two factors, work supervision is proven to be a more dominant element in increasing productivity compared to the layout of production facilities. This shows that a good way of supervision can encourage employees to work more efficiently and productively.
However, when the results of testing with the effect of moderation are applied, motivation is not proven as a variable that is able to moderate the effect of work supervision on employee productivity. This shows that although motivation has an important role in encouraging employee performance, but in this context, work supervision is strong enough to increase productivity without being influenced by the level of employee motivation.
Discussion
These findings provide important implications for Bakery rose management. The company needs to ensure that the layout of production facilities is regulated in such a way as to facilitate an efficient work process. In addition, greater attention must also be given to the work supervision system. Good supervision not only includes monitoring the tasks performed, but also provides constructive feedback to employees.
The results of this study also highlight the importance of effective supervision in increasing employee productivity. Work supervision is a critical factor that can encourage employees to work more efficiently and productively. This is in line with previous studies that have shown the positive impact of effective supervision on employee performance.
Conclusion
In conclusion, this study has shown that the layout of production facilities and work supervision have a positive and significant influence on employee productivity in Mawar Bakery. Among these two factors, work supervision is proven to be a more dominant element in increasing productivity compared to the layout of production facilities. The findings of this study provide important implications for Bakery rose management and highlight the importance of effective supervision in increasing employee productivity.
Recommendations
Based on the findings of this study, the following recommendations are made:
- Optimize the layout of production facilities: The company needs to ensure that the layout of production facilities is regulated in such a way as to facilitate an efficient work process.
- Improve the work supervision system: Greater attention must be given to the work supervision system, including monitoring tasks performed and providing constructive feedback to employees.
- Provide motivation: Although motivation is not proven as a variable that is able to moderate the effect of work supervision on employee productivity, it is still an important factor that can encourage employee performance.
Limitations
This study has several limitations that need to be addressed in future research. Firstly, the study was conducted in a single company, Mawar Bakery, and the results may not be generalizable to other companies. Secondly, the study only examined the impact of the layout of production facilities and work supervision on employee productivity, and did not consider other factors that may influence productivity.
Future Research Directions
Future research should aim to examine the impact of other factors that may influence employee productivity, such as employee motivation, job satisfaction, and organizational culture. Additionally, future research should aim to generalize the findings of this study to other companies and industries.
