However, despite the favorable conditions, many farmers in the area face challenges in optimizing the use of production inputs, which can lead to reduced productivity and income. This study aims to identify the factors that affect the optimal use of production inputs in shallot farming and to provide recommendations for improving the efficiency of farm businesses.

Methodology

This study used a stratified random sampling method to select 30 farmers from two land area strata: strata I with an area of less than 0.5 hectares and strata II with an area of 0.5 hectares or more. Each strata consisted of 15 samples. The study collected data on the availability of production inputs, types of production inputs used, and the effect of production inputs on the results of shallot farming.

The results of the study showed that production input needed for onion farming is sufficiently available in the study area. Farmers can get various agricultural needs in shops in the Capital City and Pangururan District.
