Analysis Of Factors - Factors Affecting The Time Of Transmission Network Project Completion In Participant Contractor Companies PT. PLN (Persero) Parent Unit Of The Sumatra Network Development I
Introduction
Construction projects are often plagued by the problem of late settlement, which can be caused by various factors, including contractors, project owners, and unexpected conditions. The transmission network project of PT. PLN (Persero) The Main Development Unit of the Sumatra I Network is no exception, with only 4 out of 20 contracts signed between 2008 and 2009 being completed on time. This study aims to examine the factors that affect the time completion of the transmission network project in the partner contractor company PT. PLN (Persero) of the Sumatra Network Development Unit I.
Background
The completion of construction projects is a complex process that involves various stakeholders, including contractors, project owners, and government agencies. The success of a project depends on several factors, including the quality of team members, the clarity and completeness of tasks, the effectiveness of team organization, the competence of team managers, and the smoothness of land acquisition. This study focuses on the internal factors that affect the project completion time, excluding external factors such as weather, political conditions, and government regulations.
Methodology
This study used a quantitative approach, collecting data through the distribution of questionnaires to 109 respondents who were contractor companies directly involved in PT. PLN (Persero) Parent Unit of Sumatra Network Development I. The data was analyzed using multiple linear regression methods with the help of SPSS software. The analysis showed that the five independent variables, namely team members, task team, team organization, competence of team manager, and land acquisition, have a positive influence on the project completion time.
Results
The results of the study showed that the five independent variables simultaneously and partially affect the project completion time at PT. PLN (Persero) Parent Unit of Sumatra Network Development I. The coefficient of determination (R2) obtained is 0.440, and the adjusted R2 value is 0.398. This indicates that the five independent variables explain 44% of the variation in project completion time.
Deeper Analysis
Significance of Independent Variables
Although the research shows the positive effects of all independent variables, further analysis needs to be done to find out which variables have the most significant effect. This can be done by testing the significance of each independent variable to the dependent variable.
Interaction between Variables
This research also needs to consider interaction between independent variables. For example, a combination of strong team organizations and high team manager competencies may have a positive synergistic effect on the time of project completion.
External Factors
It is essential to remember that external factors can also affect the project completion time, although this research focuses on internal factors. External factors such as weather, political conditions, and government regulations can have a significant impact on the smooth running of the project.
Recommendation
Improvement of Team Quality
PT. PLN (Persero) and contractor companies need to focus on improving the quality of team members, both in terms of knowledge, skills, and experience.

PLN (Persero) and contractor companies can take strategic steps to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the implementation of future transmission network projects. The study provides valuable insights into the importance of team quality, task management, team organization, team manager competence, and land acquisition in ensuring the timely completion of construction projects.
Limitation
This study has several limitations, including the use of a quantitative approach, which may not capture the complexity of the project completion process. Additionally, the study focuses on internal factors, excluding external factors that may also affect the project completion time.
Future Research
Future research can build on this study by exploring the impact of external factors on the project completion time. Additionally, the study can be replicated in other industries and contexts to provide a more comprehensive understanding of the factors that affect project completion time.
