Analysis Of Factors Affecting The Level Of Ateng Coffee Production (Dairi Regency Case Study)
Introduction
Ateng coffee is one of the leading commodities in Dairi Regency, known for its distinctive taste and high demand in the market. However, the level of coffee production in this region is influenced by various factors, including land area, fertilizer use, and labor. Understanding the factors that affect Ateng coffee production is crucial for farmers to improve their productivity and increase their income. In this article, we will discuss the results of research on the factors that influence Ateng coffee production in Dairi Regency and their implications for farmers.
Research Methods
This study aims to analyze the productivity of Ateng coffee in Dairi Regency by examining the influence of land area, use of fertilizers, and labor variables. The data used in this study are primary data obtained through observations and interviews with local Ateng Coffee farmers using a list of questions that have been prepared. The research design used in this study is a quantitative approach, where the data is collected and analyzed using statistical methods.
In analyzing the effect of independent variables on the dependent variable, an econometric model is used by the Ordinary Least Square (OLS) method. The OLS method is a widely used statistical technique for estimating the relationship between a dependent variable and one or more independent variables. The regression results show that the area of land and use of fertilizer have a positive and significant influence on the production of Ateng coffee. Meanwhile, labor has a positive effect, but it is not statistically significant on the production of Ateng coffee in the area.
Findings
The results of the regression analysis show that the land area variable can explain the production of Ateng coffee with a significant coefficient, while the use of fertilizer also contributes significantly in increasing crop yields. The variable labor, although it has a positive impact, does not show a significant effect. The coefficient of determination (R²) shows that 71.14% variations in the production of Ateng coffee can be explained by land area, fertilizer use, and labor, while the remaining 28.86% is influenced by other factors that are not included in this estimated model.
The overall test using F-Test also shows that F-count (35.34) is greater than F-Table (2.81), which confirms that the three variables have a significant effect on coffee production. The results of this study suggest that farmers in Dairi Regency should focus on increasing their land area and using fertilizers effectively to improve their coffee production.
Implications for Farmers
This finding provides important insights for Ateng Coffee farmers in Dairi Regency. To increase production yields, farmers need to pay attention to the area of land they manage and use fertilizer appropriately. This is important because even though the workforce plays a role in the production process, an increase in land area and effective use of fertilizer can have a greater impact on crop yields.
It is recommended that farmers also innovate in agricultural methods and find training related to the use of fertilizers and more efficient plant maintenance techniques. Thus, Ateng Coffee farmers in Dairi Regency can increase their overall productivity. Additionally, farmers should also consider the use of technology, such as precision agriculture, to improve their farming practices and increase their efficiency.
Conclusion
Overall, this study shows that factors such as land area and fertilizer use greatly affect the level of Ateng coffee production in Dairi Regency. With a better understanding of the influence of these variables, it is hoped that farmers can take the right steps to improve their production results. Further research is needed to explore other factors that may also play a role in increasing the productivity of Ateng coffee in this area.
