Introduction

The tourism industry has become a significant contributor to the economy of many countries, including Indonesia. The growth of the tourism industry has led to an increase in the number of tourist attractions, including beaches, which are considered one of the most popular tourist destinations. Kedai Tiga Beach, located in Barus District, Central Tapanuli Regency, North Sumatra Province, is one of the most visited beaches in the region. However, the economic potential of this beach is still not fully utilized, and the ticket prices are not optimized to attract more tourists. This study aims to determine the level of economic potential as well as the attraction factor of Kedai Tiga Beach attractions.

Methodology

This study used a quantitative approach, involving 95 visitors and 5 tourist managers as samples. The sample determination was carried out by the simple random sampling method, which allows random sampling to withdraw to representative. To collect data, researchers used literature studies and direct observations in the field. Data analysis was carried out using the Willingness to Pay (WTP) method, which measured visitors' willingness to pay for the entrance ticket.

Results

The results showed that the willingness of visitors to pay the entrance ticket was Rp.6,000 for a visit once, Rp.5,857 for the second visit, and Rp.5,925 for more than twice visits. These figures reflect the economic potential that can be utilized by the manager of tourist attractions in determining the appropriate pricing strategy.

Attraction Factor

In terms of attraction, this tourist attraction has several aspects that are advantages. Cultural aspects are still a challenge, especially because the art activities at Kedai Tiga Beach are rarely held. This shows an opportunity to develop more active cultural activities to attract more visitors. In addition, from the natural aspect, Kedai Tiga Beach has an enchanting area of ​​beach with enchanting white sand, environmental beauty that reaches 80%, and a level of natural beauty of 60%. The beauty of this panorama is certainly a magnet for tourists who are looking for a different vacation experience.

Weaknesses

However, there are some weaknesses in terms of accommodation and supporting facilities. At present, lodging and buildings to enjoy the beauty of the beach are still limited. In addition, facilities such as places of worship, public toilets, parking lots, and information centers are also inadequate. These limitations can reduce the comfort of visitors and need to be considered by the manager so that tourist experiences become more satisfying.

To optimize the economic potential and tourist attraction of Kedai Tiga Beach, it is very important for the manager to improve the quality of services and facilities. In addition, better promotional strategies and the development of local cultural activities can also bring more tourists.
