Administration Of Pigs With Different Doses To The Productivity Of Forage Ruzi (brachiaria Ruziziensis) With Different Cutting Intervals
Introduction
The use of organic fertilizers such as pig dung compost has been gaining attention in recent years due to its economic value, quality, and nutritional content. This study aimed to investigate the effect of different doses of pig dung compost on the productivity of forage ruzi (Brachiaria ruziziensis) with different cutting intervals. The study was conducted at the Sei Putih Goat Research Station, Galang District, Deliserdang Regency, North Sumatra, in September 2015-January 2016.
Materials and Methods
This study used a split plot design with the main plot of cutting interval (40 days, 50 days, and 60 days) and gifts Pork compost (P0 = control, P1 = 2.25 kg compost pork dung, P2 = 4.5 kg of pork compost, P3 = 6.75 kg of pig compost) as a child plot. The parameters observed were plant height, production of fresh materials, and the number of tillers.
Results
The results showed that 60 days of cutting intervals gave higher results for production parameters, namely in the production of fresh materials in A3P3 treatment compared to 50 days slaughtering intervals (A2P2) and 40 days cutting intervals (A1P1). Pork compost organic fertilizer has a significant effect (p ˂0,01) to an increase in plant height and the number of tillers.
Discussion
The use of pig dung compost as an organic fertilizer has been proven to increase the productivity of forage ruzi. The compost is rich in nutrients and microorganisms that are beneficial for plant growth. In addition, the use of compost can also improve soil structure and increase the ability of the soil in holding water.
