This study aims to explore the picture of resilience in junior high school students who are victims of bullying. By using incidental sampling techniques, 63 students were used as subjects of this study. The measuring instrument used is a resilience scale developed based on seven key capabilities that support resilience, namely emotional regulation, impulse control, optimism, empathy, analysis of the causes of problems, self-efficacy, and achievement, as revealed by Reivich and Shatte (2002).

Results

The results showed that of the 63 subjects, 11 students were classified in the low category, 40 students in the medium category, and 12 students in the high category related to resilience. This shows that the majority of students victims of bullying at Medan Methodist 1 Middle School are in the medium category in terms of resilience.

The results of this study reflect the importance of understanding resilience among students victims of bullying. Although most students are in the medium category, this shows that there is still space to improve in the development of their resilience characteristics. Appropriate education and intervention can be a strategic step to help students victims of bullying build mental resilience.
